Dome Relay - Follow Up Testing (2020-05-19)

Following on from repair to Dome Relay system (2020-05-15), some addition tests where made during a day time test on 2020-05-19 to confirm that the Dome's Relay Protection System was still working and to confirm precise understanding of how it works in practice.

New Results

Tests conducted in daylight & overcast skies with a 30s Relay Delay and 'NO' Relay Polarity
(Note: Normally Open 'NO' is the polarity that my selected wiring is designed to work with)

Test 1
Initial Condition : Shutter Closed and Cloud Sensor Software showing a Safe Condition (Clarity and Light Disabled to achieve this)
Action : Initiate Open Shutter command
Result :   Shutter opened fully

Test 2
Initial Condition : Shutter Closed and Cloud Sensor Software showing an Safe Condition (Clarity and Light Enabled to achieve this)
Action : Clarity and Light Thresholds Enabled in Cloud Sensor for 15s  - Cloud Sensor Software showing an UnSafe Condition
Clarity and Light Thresholds Disabled - Cloud Sensor Software showing a Safe Condition again before 30s had passed.
Result :   Shutter remained fully open.

Test 3
Initial Condition : Shutter Open and Cloud Sensor Software showing a Safe Condition (Clarity and Light Disabled to achieve this)
Action : Clarity (22) and Light (20) Enabled in Cloud Sensor
Result :   Shutter began to close after 30 seconds

Conclusion

Cloud Sensor Software Issue

Following up on an earlier observation that Cloud Sensor relay thresholds value settings can not sometimes be adjusted (though Enable/Disable settings still can), it was shown that there was again this same issue.  Cloding and restarting the Cloud Sensor III software didn't resolve the problem.

Previously the problem has been fixed by restarting the Computer or turning the Cloud Sensor off/on etc until the problem resolved itself. This was tried on this occasion as it takes time and can destablising things .    Normally this issue is not a problem (outside of testing), but in the event of needing to adjust the Rain setting to a higher level to trim the threshold on the rare occasions that a Observing Sessions is required in the siutation that the base level rain reading level (nornmally -1) is slightly elevated to 1 - 4 due to earlier 'dampness/water' entering the box, but Relay Protection against rain is still required.
