Pre-Session Weather forecast showed fairly clouy condition reaching 85% cloud cover, but potentially reducing to 54% cloud cover by dawn.
with moderate-light wind (15-12 mph), very low risk of rain <= 5% and a minimum temperature of 8-9°C.

In the event conditions were cloudy prior to midnight with light showers between 22:00 and 00:20 .  A separate weather forecast indicated potential of clear skies after midnight, so AutoStart was engaged before going to bed.  Skies cleared at 01:40 and remained fairly clear until dawn with cloud passing at 02:20 and 03:50 to 04:15.  Night was dry from 00:30 onwards with minimum outside temperature of 5.5°C

AutoStart - Results

Result: Successful use of AstroStart. A Live Session was created and begun under complete automated control, without any remote monitoring.  The session ran 'successfully',  except that a critical user intervention was neccessary at to adjust the Foc1 Focus Offset to allow Foc1 autofocusing to succeed.

AutoStart Mode was initiated from AstroMain 3.28.1 program at 19:43. It's operational window was from 21:13 (SunAlt -12 degs {descending} minus 30 mins) until 04:04 (SunAlt -12 degs {ascending} minus 30 mins).  Conditions at 21:13 were unsuitable for observing due to cloud and AutoStart was deferred.  Finally at 00:16 conditions were deemed suitable and AutoStart ran, creating a new live session (S801), and beginning Observatory Night Services including powering up and connecting to the LX200 Telescope. The dome was opened at 00:19 and session began running at 00:23, starting with attempted autofocusing of Main Scope (Foc1 system) and GuideScope (Foc2 system).

Although wide focus search option had been manually enabled for the Foc1 system , the search window wasn't wide enough for position of the correct approximate best focus position to be determined.  Without use of a correct focus offset images from first few targets where out of focus and not of any use. A manual intervention was made at 01:30 to set the Foc1 focus offset to a value where Foc1 Wide Search would be able to pick up the Best Focus. This is it did and the remainder of the targets from the night were in focus.

Foc1 Auto-Focusing - Impact of Weather/Seasonal related focus changes

Foc1 Auto-Focusing was performed at the start of session on a Near Zenith Star Field (Focus Field 22) and on SS Cyg Star field.   Even though Wide Focus Search was enabled with a 2040 range (the standard range is 1320),  this range was insufficient for the wide search autofocusing process to find the correct best focus position. This was due to unusually large change in focus  between the date that the Focus Offset were last established (2020-08-24) and the date of the new session (2020-08-30) caused by a combination of colder ambient temperature at ground level (7.8 vs 12.4°C) and a ? colder atmosphere. (2020-08-24 and 2020-08-30 had similar max daytime temperatures : 19.1 vs 19.2°C)

After spotting that the first 4 targets were out of focus an intervention was made to shift the Focus Offset used for the session to bring it into the terrority appropriate to the new focusing conditions. Once this had been done auttomated wide focus search was able to establish the approximate position of best focus and pass this on to standard profile focusing.

The experience demonstrates that Wide Search needs to use a much large search window in order to guarentee finding correct best focus  (a range of 4000 is proposed compared to the current value of 2040).

The following composite plot compares the new focus profile (right) with the last valid profile (left) and highlights the magnitude of the actual focus change between the two sessions compared to the focus change expected from just a 4.5°C decrease in ambient temperature alone.
