Planetary Nebula

Two of the most famous planetary nebula are M27 and M57.  Shown below are sketches of these two nebula (made in 1995) compared with CCD Images (made in 2004/2005).  Both sketches and CCD images were made using 8" LX200.

Pease 1 - Planetary Nebula in M15

Pease I (Pegasus)
Pease I - a planetary nebula in the globular cluster M15 - is the
small 'red' object whose position is indicated by the white cross-hairs
This false colour image uses Ha filter frame for red,
and V filter frame for blue and green.
The Pl. Neb. is highlighted due to its high excess of light at Ha wavelengths,
and appears 'red' compared to normal stars which appear whitish.
