38P/Stephan-Oterma - Comet 64P/Swift-Gehrels - Comet     HIP 20995 - Star     NGC 1662 - Open Cluster     Photometric Monitoring - Variables    - None       Astrometric Monitoring - Nearby Stars   - None

- Night Session (2.9 hours total, 0.8 hours images) . - Main aim of the session was to test the operation and use of a Pegasus Motor Focus Unit that was newly installed onto the TS 80mm f6 APO secondary scope - Opportunity was taken to acquire images of an open cluster and a couple of comets     - 12" LX200 + ST-10XME for imaging - TS 80mm APO + ZWO ASI178MC for guiding & imaging - Ambient Temperature:  5.5°C (minimum)  - CCD Temperature:  -15°C (58% av. power) - Notes from 2018-11-07 >>

38P/Stephan-Oterma (passing through Gemini) Sun distance 1.59 AU.

CCD Image (50% size) 26 x 30s exposure ( aligned on comet, average combine), 3x3 binning, C Filter  2018-11-08 03:32 UT (#636029-59) 12" LX200R  (at f/10.4) + ST-10XME (Autoguided on a guide star using TS 80mm APO + ZWO ASI178MC)

38P/Stephan-Oterma  - Earlier Image (2018-10-21) (passing through Gemini) Sun distance 1.61 AU.

HIP 20995 / SAO 93970 (Taurus) Images taken at the end of testing the focusing of TS 80mm Secondary Scope using new Motor Focus Unit

Image from  80mm APO scope (at f/6) + ZWO ASI 178MC camera (box shows the corresponding FOV for  12" LX200 + ST-10XME) HIP 20995, mag +5.6 lies near centre of image Bright star to upper right is HIP 20894, mag +3.4 (Image Link with 30 UCA/USNO stars, plate scale 3.100"/px, N angle 354.5 deg camera needs to be rotated anti-clockwise by 5.5deg )
