Pre-Session Weather Forecast (API data from darksky.net)
Pre-Session Weather forecast showed clear skies in first part of evening (0-31% cloud cover), with skies clouding over
from 20:00 to 22:00 (51-97% cloud cover) becoming totally overcast from 23:00 onwards (98-100% cloud cover)
Minimum tempertaure of 2 degC and light wind (7-8 mph).

In the event skies there were sufficiently clear for observing in first part of evening, but skies had poor transparancy.
Skies poor for remainder of night. Minumum Temperature of 1 degC. Winds initially calm-light, but increasing to light by dawn.

ASCOM Platform 6.5 SP1

The Observatory Computer (Windows 7) was upgraded today (2020-12-30) from ASCOM 6.4 SP1 to the new ASCOM 6.5 SP1 platform. The upgrade went smoothly.

The Development Computer (Windows 10) was also upgraded to the new ASCOM 6.5 SP1 platform, having previously been running ASCOM 6.5 SP1 RC1 for a while.

Both computers are using the latest 6.5.1 version of DeviceHub (located at  'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ASCOM\DeviceHub' rather than previous location 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ASCOM\Telescope').

AstroMain program rebuilt as 'AstroMain 3.33' after installing new 6.5 Developer Components.

ASCOM Conform Tests - Pulsar Dome Driver

ASCOM Conform (6.5.7500.22514) was run directly on the Pulsar Observatories Dome Drive Version: 6.3 today (2020-12-30), running on the newly installed ASCOM 6.5 SP1 platform

The test successfully passed the Find Home test that it had previously failed (2020-10-28 tests).  This confirms that the recently installed new Home magnet has resolved the earlier dome homing issue.

An error was however encountered during post-run checks, whilst attempting to close the shutter near the end of the tests.
14:17:47.867 DomeSafety       INFO   Attempting to close shutter...
14:21:47.951 DomeShutterWait  ERROR  Timed out waiting for shutter to reach state: shutterClosed

The Pulsar Trace Log from the period of the test clearly shows the Close Shutter request being received at 14:17:47.898, but the shutter clearly remains open.  That the shutter didn’t close was visually confirmed and it could be seen that Conform was giving plenty of time for the shutter to close before it timed-out waiting for the shutter state to change to 'Closed'..

After finishing the Conform Test the Observatory Control program was restarted & reconnected to the Dome via DeviceHub. Finding the shutter unexpectedly open during daylight hours the program commanded the shutter to close, which it successfully did.

This issue is similar to the session incident on 2020-10-28 where the Shutter didn’t close upon receiving a Close Command via ASCOM (with the Shutter appearing to have gone to sleep !), but did close when a repeat request was made a couple of minutes later.
