Session Notes |
|
- |
3/4 hour session, initially clear sky but, hazy with full moon. Cloud rapidly
developed from SSE forcing the abandonment of the session.. |
- |
Ambient temperature 12 degC |
- |
As this was the 100th session, it was the first time that image numbers went
up from 00099999 to 00100001. This occasion uncovered a number of small issues
with post-session utility and analysis tools which required software fixes to be
made. |
- |
[ Developing cloud on 2005-10-14 also interrupted an attempted observing
session on 2005-10-14, during which it had been planned to acquire images of
HD 209458's extrasolar planet transit ] |

More Notes |
|
Aims of session were to record an image sequence on RR Lyrae (to
confirm the variation seen during previous
session on 2005-10-08 and 2005-10-13), additional magnitude information on Delta
Cepheid, baseline image sets for BL Lac. In the event only images of Delta
Cepheid were recorded before cloud forced the abandonment of the session.
A secondary aim was to check computer/hardware after reinstalling drivers for
Belkin USB-Serial device.
(no crashes occurred over 45 min period, however the session was too short to
give the computer-telescope connection a real test)
Image sets of Delta Cepheid
& reference star SAO 34542 were recorded
at around 20:15h UT, 23:05h UT (2005-10-13) and 02:25h UT (2005-10-14).
Image sets comprised 7 sequences of 3 x 0.2s V & 3 x 0.6s B
(alternated between Delta Cepheid & reference star) These were analyzed using the
methodology described under 2005-10-05
Notes, and combined with previous estimates
