NGC 524 - Spiral Galaxy with Supernova 2008Q Moon Saturn Astrometric & Photometric Monitoring
- SS Cyg, U Gem (dwarf nova)
- BL Lac (Blazar)
- RX And, Z And, TT Ari, AQ CMi, CV CMi, SY Cnc, U Mon, FU Ori, DY Per, KR Aur, RR Tau (variables)
- Late evening session (3.3hr) - CCD operation of -25 degC (at 60% average cooling). - main objective was to acquire images of certain selected stars for ongoing photometric, and test out new Optec TCF-S focuser.
NGC 524 with SN 2008Q (Pisces) 2008Q is a Type 1a Supernova discovered 2008/01/26.75 by Giancarlo Cortin at ~ mag +16.8 (Rochester Supernova site | Discovery Image | | Later Image by Diego Rodriguez | Reference Image) Image below (2008-02-16.82) was taken 21 days after discovery. Measured magnitude of SN 2008Q +14.1 (C) |
