C/2014 Q2 (Lovejoy) - Comet NGC 309 - Spiral Galaxy PGC 213221 - Galaxy, with Supernova 2014dz UGC 2918 - Spiral Galaxy UGC 3000 - Spiral Galaxy UGC 5295 - Spiral Galaxy Photometric Monitoring - Variables - IW And, RX And, U And, W And, Z And, CI Cyg, S Cyg, SS Cyg, U Gem, BL Lac, RZ LMi, CN Ori, CZ Ori, FO Ori, FU Ori, NV Ori, DY Per, GK Per, UV Per, FG Sge, V Sge, RR Tau, SU Tau, ER UMa Astrometric Monitoring - Nearby Stars - HH And, DX Cnc, Groombridge 34, EV Lac
- Evening session (4.9 hrs duration). - Session operated under semi-automated control, with remote monitoring from indoors computer. - Ambient Temperature: Temperature falling to minimum of 1°C by end of session. - CCD operation -30°C (at 72% average cooling). - Main objectives of the session was to monitor selected variable stars & nearby stars and to take gallery images of a range of deep sky objects. - -

NGC 309 (Cetus) Galaxy is only just visible in this stacked image due to low S/N. This is a consequence of significant sky background attributed to the Moon (Phase 63%, 29 arc deg offset) . |

PGC 213221 (Perseus) PGC 213221 catalog mag: + 16.5 (Galaxy), PGC 12929 catalog mag +15.6 (Elliptical Galaxy) SN 2014dz (Type Ia, z= 0.0176 ) was discovered 2014/12/20.146 by Robert Gagliano, Dick Post, Wyck Pattishall, Jack Newton, and Tim Puckett (Rochester Supernova site | Discovery Image ) The image below was taken 11 days after discovery The supernova position is indicated by white markers. The measured brightness of the 2014dz supernova is +16.4 (PGC 213221 galaxy is measured at +15.1) |
