Objects Session Notes
68P/Klemola - Comet IC 1029 - Spiral Galaxy (LGG 384 Member) NGC 599 - Elliptical Galaxy NGC 5707 - Spiral Galaxy (LGG 384 Member) NGC 7250 - Spiral Galaxy ("Starburst Galaxy") Whiting 1 - Globular Cluster Variable Stars (photometric monitoring) - RX And, U And, Z And, SS Her, BL Lac Nearby Stars (astrometric monitoring) - HH And, Barnards Star, Groombridge 34, Teegardens Star
- Full night session, Duration 7.0 hr
Session operated in fully automated mode. Intervention required after Job Executor stalled waiting for program execution to return from a Telescope.Jog command.
- Main aim of the session was a full night of general observing with a mix of variable stars, nearby stars, comets and deep sky targets. - 12" LX200 + ST-10XME for imaging - TS 80mm APO + ZWO ASI178MC for guiding & imaging - Ambient Temperature: Initially 16.5°C falling to 15.0°C (min) / then 14°C (min) in observatory
(Dew heaters on manual )- CCD Temperature: -5°C (62% av. power) & -10°C (73% av. power) - Notes from 2019-08-25 >>
68P/Klemola (passing through Ophiuchus) Sun Distance 1.95 AU Earth Distance 1.37 AU (205.4 million km) Comet is shown by white cross-hairs |
68P/Klemola - Detail Frames aligned on Comet (Stars appear very slightly trailed due to movement of comet) |
