Objects Session Notes
Bullet C/2017 K2 (PANSTARRS) - Comet

Bullet NGC 6701 - Spiral Galaxy with Transient AT 2022nxe
Bullet NGC 6745 - Spiral Galaxy with Type IIn Supernova 2022prr
Bullet NGC 6888 - Nebula (Caldwell 27)

  - C/2021 O3 (PANSTARRS) attempt failed (due to failed guiding/lost star)

Bullet Variable Stars (photometric monitoring)
- RX And, Z And, SS Cyg, BL Lac

Bullet Nearby Stars (astrometric monitoring)
- HH And, 61 Cyg, Groombridge 34, EV Lac

- All night session (3.9 hours)
- A number of targets were affected by poor image guiding due to PHD2 autoselecting very faint guide stars, with SNR as low as 4-5 which were too easily lost (fixed mid-session by setting minimum guide star SNR to 50).

- 12" LX200 + ST-10XME for imaging
- TS 80mm APO + ZWO ASI178MC for guiding & imaging
- Ambient Temperature: 7°C (min)
- CCD Temperature:  -10°/-15°C

NGC 6701 with AT 2022nxe - 2022-08-05 (T+36.2d)
Image below (2022-08-05.058) was taken 36.2 days after discovery of 2022nxe
Position of reported transient (visible ?) is shown by white cross-hairs
Measured magnitude ? (unable to determine using SExtractor)

NGC 6701 - Reference Image
Magenta cross-hairs drawn at the coordinates of AT 2022nxe
Apart from the bright arm on the galaxy the reference image
doesn't appear to any obvious object at the AT 2022nxe coordinates
Transient is therefore consider to be confirmed.
The TNS 2022nxe web page still shows the object type as
 'Unknown' as of 2022-08-10.
