CCD Session S00054 Notes from CCD Session M33 - Spiral Galaxy (Pinwheel Galaxy) M1 (Crab Nebula) Sky Brightness Survey > Images from CCD Session 54
Session was conducted on 2003-11-21 in between
very bright auroral displays on 2003-11-20 and auroral activity on
2003-11-22. Imaging was from a temporarily
mounted telescope / roughly
aligned on the Pole Star
(TPoint indicated that the scope's polar alignment had been out by 1.1 deg in azimuth and out by 0.6 deg in altitude).
(cf 2003-10-17 - out
by 0.8 deg in azimuth and out by 1.2 deg in altitude).
During the session ice crystals quickly developed on the CCD chip or window,
which severely reduced the value of images collected. In addition dew formed on
the front corrector lens of the scope. Nevertheless the session was useful for
testing CCD/Telescope control scripts.

Instead of a sky brightness survey of specific azimuths (eg South), data from all images was analyzed to provide a semi-quantitative comparison with earlier images.
