• Problem with the quality of gif images saved from bitmap using format 'ImageFormat.Gif' (Development Testing)  The issue is most clearly seen with negative images (light background) but the problem probably also affects normal images (dark background) though its not so obvious. Bitmap image is saved using 'PictureBox1.Image.Save(ImagePath, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Gif)'. Issue worked around in shortterm (or possibly permanently ?) by saving with ImageFormat.Png.   Import Store File will load .gif if .png file is not found.

• Obs.Monitor appears to be frozen in section Monitor TheSky6 Scope (06:27).  Whilst Dome was being sent to Park Position/Parked at end of session, the ObsMonitor frooze in 'Monitor TheSky6 Scope'.  Dome slew was normal Appears to have been frozen for approximatly for 35s  (06:27:43 to 06:28:20). The only work done by the Monitor TheSky6 Scope section is to fetch the value of  Telescope.IsConnected and assign result to VM.TheSkyScopeConnection.   This specific issue hasn't been seen before and would appear to be a glitch.   Issue reoccurred however during the following S968 session (more) and during general operation on 2022-02-18 (more).  No repeat of problem since Feb 2022.   Issue closed after review (2022-02-18), but continue to monitor for any future instances of the issue.

• Using Save .htm Reports' from AstroPlan session form opening .htm report for SessionAlerts (S967).   The 'Save .htm Reports'  button routine save a SessionEvents_xxx.htm and SessionAlerts_xxx.htm file and then proceeds to open the SessionEvents file in IE11 and then open the SessionAlerts file in a second IE11 window.   This normally works but the SessionAlerts window has suddenly today (2022-02-08) stopped appearing.  It worked in last session, but trying now to open S967 or previous S966 window doesn't work.  File is created ok and the htm open in IE11 ok if the SessionAlerts file is 'saved' from the Session Alerts form. This might be a Windows11 /MS Edge issue.  Propose to rety again after computer has been rebooted.  Issue identified to be due to computer running on battery (rather than on mains) making it slower and the computer apparently still working on Process.Start(browser, "...SessionEvents.htm") when the Process.Start(browser, "...SessionAlerts.htm") is called. Resolved in part by increasing the programmed delay between the two NavigateWebURL from 1000ms to a higher value of 3000ms.

Small Defects

• 'Build Heading' routine for transient target 'AT2021agbw' produces a less than perfect heading.  The button routine produces the output 'AT2021agbw - Transient with Transient AT2021agbw'. The output should read be 'AT2021agbw - Transient '. BuildImageSetHeading() routine modfied (2022-02-09) to resolve this issue for AT and SN named objects.

• Although Target 24/32 (GCVS SS Cyg) was completed at 04:15 a second attempt  was unexpectedly started at 04:16. After successfully completing 9/9 frames for SS Cyg target  (04:04 to 04:15, oid 25) a second TargetInfo Chart was opened at 04:16 (oid 26)recording that the target's start time was missed & that some frames may be cancelled.   No Slew/Centering/ImageFrame acquisition was performed during Attempt 2 and at 04:20 the job queue moved on to the next target. Target observation was recorded as 'Failed' (w/ no reason) in the Observing Plan table but as 'Completed' in the Observing Result table.  The ObsManager called for a softsuspend during the final frames of SS Cyg due to deteriorating conditions (AllSky StarCount falling below the threshold set) and the Job Queue was paused for a session suspension. Once the dome was closed , queue resumed with SS Cyg well.   Since this was a softsuspend and the target had been completed, the queue should have skipped any second attempt at the target and have gone to the next target (Nova Cas 2021).  Issue shares similarities to issue seen in previous S966 session where Target 6/40 (NGC 2922) was wrongly classified as 'Failed (due to cloud)' in the nights observing plan, although it has successfully completed 4 out of 5 frames.  (ie it should have been classed as 'Partially Completed'. A fix to this issue from the last session was attempted and it should have partially been effective on this recent occassion. Correct Status 'Completed' was manually entered into Observing Plan post-session.   Session Events table show SS Cyg as "Target cancelled (24/32, GCVS SS Cyg) due to other condition".  Fixed in AstroMain 3.49.2 - an additional ObservationStatus check (T.ObservationStatus <> ObservationState.Completed ) is made coming out of  a bSoftSuspend/bHardSuspend wait  before allowing a target to be reattempted.

• Unable to import .png file into ImageBuilder (Development Testing). Unable to import .png picture file back into ImageBuilder. Facility was previously working ok with .gif file imports until system changed over to using .png as basic picture type. following problems with bitmap.Save (Format.Gif). Quickly fixed (Ext type had been hard-coded as GIF).

• Target 25/32 (Nova Cas 2021) failed due to threat of rain (session suspended) but no failure mode (reason for failure) was saved to the Observing Plan.  Observing Plan shows Status as being 'Failed', but FailureMode is blank.   Correct failure mode 'Rain Threat' was manually entered post-session.  Session Events table show Nova Cas 2021 as "Target cancelled (25/32, Nova Cas 2021) due to other condition".  The "other condition" value is a return value from calling GetFailDescription(). Extra tracing added to AstroMain 3.49.2 to help diagnosis. New function GetFailureState() added to return the enum string associated with T.FailureMode.  Issue is potentially fixed in AstroMain 3.51.5, after determining that ReasonToSuspend () function didn't include a condition leading to FailedState.TooFewStars. and therefore returned FailureState.Blank (ie 0). Routine updated to include 'TooFewStars' condition which should prevent issue from happening again, or at least reduce the number of occurances of this ongoing problem.

• After downloading Targets Database from Observatory, Astroplan sometimes shows a blank Session List and has to be restarted for any sessions to reappear in the list. This is an occasional ongoing issue. Using Refresh button doesn't work in this siutation, the list remains blank.  The only workaround to resolve this is to restart AstroMain program which always resolves the issue (till the next time).  It would be handy to get to the bottom of the issue and resolve it.If an exception occurs the ex.message is posted to the TargetForm.ScrollBox.Text field.  There is doesn't appear to be anything in the ListSessionRows() routine to explain what might be occuring, other than it is a database state that causes SqlLite to not return any rows  from the 'session' table when queried.   It is proposed to have AstroPlan running in VS debugger when the database is next downloaded so that the source of the problem can be determined and fixed if possible.  Retained as an ongoing issue following review 2022-05-10 since the issue still occurs occassionally (prehaps 1 in 9 sessions or so).   Workround fix added in late 2022 (date ?).  A 'Restart Database' button has been added to the bottom of the Sessions List form allowing database connection to be restarted which then allows sessions to be listed.

• Enhance new ImageBuilder tool by adding Image Trimming for Reduced Images and Offset Centering for Cropped Images. Implemented in AstroMain 3.49.3.  Also fixed a bug associated with CrossHairs location when adjusting cropped region where offset would cause the cropped region to extend beyond the original image area.

• Query. Analysis of images from Target 3/30 (AT2022bnf) from S967 are sent picture files to the store folder "..\Store\AT2022bnf" but there are already pictures of the object held in "..\Store\SN 2022bnf" that were acquired at a later date (S969), but analysed before the images from S967. How come? . The two pictures sets are not connected in the Store Folder which could lead to a picture sequence of SN 2022bnf on the SN2022.htm web page to not include those pictures from AT2022bnf.  Investigating shows that images for 'AT2022bnf' and those of 'SN 2022bnf' were both produced by image acquisition of TargetID 2113, with those of AT2022bnf being produced before AstroSN update the target name when the transient type was confirmed to be a supernova (before it was assigned to be a transient of type "Ia".  Issue is understood, it only affects targets which explicitly use transient names as the Target Name,  transient targets that use host galaxy's name as the target name are not affected.
  Question answered 2022-02-14 (AstroMain 3.49.5)
   
• Implement a solution to avoid the issue raised by a transient target name change (eg. AT2022bnf >> SN 2022bnf). When name changes to a unknow type transient to a Supernova,  it could be argued that pictures files in ATxxxxxx folder should be moved to SNxxxxx folder, as a solution, but returning to a session analysis and clicking on ATxxxxxx image set would still want to open a  /Store/ATxxxxxx folder, since the store folder is determined from the target name held in the FITS images.  Unless target names in FITS images were retrospectively named (which is a problematic and unwise, since the names then no longer fits with the realtime name used in reports and realtime picture etc), then we need a different solution.  It is proposed that the determine Folder Name/ lookup folder names routines should have special handling so that for ATxxxxxx it would use store folder name SN xxxxxx if that folder exists. Furthermore if the SN xxxxxx folder exists and there is an existing ATxxxxxxx folder, use would be offered the option of relocating pictures from ATxxxxxx folder to the SN xxxxxx folder and remove the AT folder. Similar process should happen when creating a SN xxxxxx folder when ATxxxxx folder already exists.  (May need to think about what happens to files in the _settings subfolder, when creating SNxxxxx folder then copying/moving the _settings would be the obvious option).  Solution implemented in AstroMain 3.49.5 (2022-02-14).
