Session Aims & Highlights (2023-04-19)

Main aims

1. Targets.  Acquire images of a selection of variable stars, nearby stars, comets & deep sky targets as allowed by sky conditions
2. NGC 5576 Galaxy Group.  Acquire images of galaxies in NGC 5576 Galaxy Group (Astro.Now Deep Sky Challenge object for May 2023)

Highlights

• Targets. 20 out of 20 planned targets were completed.
• NGC 5576 Galaxy Group. Images of NGC 5574, 5576, & NGC 5577 successfully acquired.
• Dome Slews.  One slew was significantly delayed with a total hold-up delay of 152s with holdups at Az 59.3, 65.4 85.6, 86.4, 87.5, 88.2 deg (Hold Up Stats: 1/22 slews affected, 5%, 3.6 minutes total hold-up time).

• Free Disk Space on Observatory Computer has fallen below 50 GB. Free disk space on C drive down to 48.9 GB at start of session, reduced to 47.2 GB by end of session. 31 GB reclaimed by deleting older (no longer required) SharpCap image files.  30 GB reclaimed by deleting older (no longer required) ObsPic files.

Small Defects

• Scorecard/Synopsis Data records not received by AstroMain running on new Development Computer. It is presumed that TCP/IP connection isn't being made from AstroAllSky running on AllSky/Weather Computer. CloudSensor / Weather Data records are being passed ok to new Development Computer from AstroWeather running on AllSky/Weather Computer.  Problem is most probably due to missing functionality in AstroAllSky.  Issue deemed to have been resolved around 2023-04-20 or so.
