Panoramic View - Northern Sky |
2021-04-16 21:25 UT Auroral activity in NW-NNW sky but difficult to see in bright moonlit sky (moon: phase 27%, altitude 21°). |
2021-04-16 21:25 UT Very rapid development of auroral activity in northern sky with auroral rays up to 15-20° altitude. Moonlit sky. |
2021-04-16 21:27 UT Brightening aurora. Rays to at least 20° altitude. Moonlit sky. Moon progressing northwards on left hand side of image |
2021-04-16 21:30 UT Aurora across entire northern horizon with rays to at least 25° altitude. Moonlit sky. |
2021-04-16 21:37 UT Aurora rays traversing across northern horizon. Rays to 25° altitude. Moonlit sky. |
2021-04-16 21:50 UT Aurora rays traversing across northern horizon. Rays to 25° altitude. Moonlit sky. |
2021-04-16 22:20 UT Aurora faded but some activity still visible in NNE sky. Moonlit sky. |

Magnetometer Stack Plots from Scandinavia
(ordered by latitude) H Component - 2021-04-16 / 2021-04-17 Original data from Tromsų Geophysical Observatory (TGO), DTU Space (Technical University of Denmark) and Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI, displayed on SpaceWeatherLive http://www.spaceweatherlive.com/en/auroral-activity/magnetometers). Note: Geomagnetometer activity at rvk (Rorvik, 64.95N), dob (Dombas, 62.07N), sol (Solund, 61.08N) and kar (Karmoy, 59.21N) stations are used as indicators for potential auroral activity that may be visible from my Observatory situated at latitude 57.32N (Map of Stations) |
