Objects Session Notes
- 5 hour session, frosty - main aim was to record passage of near earth asteroid 2005 YO128 (however it was too faint & moving too fast to detect). - opportunity taken to image variety of galaxies, including 3 with recent supernova. - three mosaic sets taken (IC 405, IC 417, B34) - variable star measurements on Delta Cepheid, Algol More Notes
PGC 73329 (Orion) |
CCD Image 11 x 2 min (average combine), clear filter 2006-01-03 19:16h UT (#109064-74) |
Images of area near PGC 73329 were
taken in an attempt to record passage of a ~ 60 m diameter near earth asteroid 2005 YO128 which was passing at ~ 7 lunar distances from earth on 2006-01-03. Expected magnitude was +16.9, however, despite and a magnitude limit down to +17.6, the asteroid proved too faint and too fast moving to record a visible trace along the expected path |
