- attempt to image  KR Aur unsuccessful due to cloud

- Marathon Session (14.3hr),  very cold conditions, with thick frost covering the observatory walls and the telescopes dew shield by the morning.
- First part of the session was monitored remotely whilst the second half was run under  fully automated software control. A total of 793 individual image frames were acquired, with observations on a total of 59 target objects.
- CCD operation of -25 degC (at 57% average cooling).
- main objectives were a) to acquire images of certain selected stars of ongoing photometric and astrometric analysis, in particular Z And, and b) record images of a number of deep sky objects including images of selected ARP and images of galaxies in which supernovae where previously collected in 2005-2007 and
- opportunity was taken to acquire further images of comet 17P/Holmes & a passing NEA (2005 WJ56). opportunity was also taken to acquire a gallery images of Caldwell 52.
- before the observing session was begun, a polar alignment refinement was attempted based on polar misalignment values collected during a previous TPoint mapping run.
(analysis of subsequent images would suggest that polar alignment has actually worsened, rather than improved. This can be seen by a slight amount of star trailing in subs of 2-3 mins exposure. This needs to be investigated and corrected in the next session or two).

More Notes from Session 252
Including Polar Alignment and Period Error Checks
