Objects Session Notes
CY Lyr - dwarf nova Astrometric & Photometric Monitoring - SS Cyg (dwarf nova)
- U And (mira variables)
- BL Lac (blazar)
- RX And, RU Peg, DY Per, U Sge, V Sge, FG Sge, CY Lyr (variables)
- Gliese 1245, Teegardens Star attempts (failed due to cloud)
- R CrB, WZ Sge attempts (failed due to cloud)
- 300th imaging session - Late evening session (2.9 hrs), poor sky transparency, fairly windy with passing cloud, with more cloud developing towards end of session. Session operated under automated control - Ambient Temperature 12 degC - CCD operation of -15 degC
(at 76% average cooling).- main objective was to acquire images of key selected stars for ongoing photometric and astrometric analysis. - due to poor conditions no attempt was made to observe any new objects or take any gallery images. -
CY Lyr (Lyra) Images from this session (2008-09-05/06) and two later sessions (2008-09-20 & 2008-09-22) show a marked variation in CY Lyr from mag +13.2 (V) on 2008-09-06 to +16.0 (V) on 2008-09-20, a 2.8 mag dimming (See Graph of CY Lyr on AAVSO - last 100 days ) |
