- Evening session. Observing part (1.9 hrs) - First part of session operated in Session operated under semi-automated control, with remote monitoring from indoors computer. - Ambient Temperature: 4.5 deg C (minimum) - CCD operation -20 degC (at 57% average cooling). - main objectives of the session was to acquire images of selected project stars for ongoing photometric analysis. and to test new software routine for Autoguiding Control - successful software tests and some photometric observations (1.9 hrs) were eventually made, but not before serious start-up problems where encountered with camera and telescope. The camera switched off and could not be restarted, whilst the telescope began slewing past North. The source of the problem was traced to a extension cable between CCD camera and power adapter, however it was a further hour before the telescope was finally sorted out. -
