Nova Del 2013 - Nova (V339 Del) Variable Stars (photometric monitoring) - RX And, FO Aql, CY Cyg, S Cyg, SS Cyg, AM Her, U Her, BL Lac, CY Lyr, DY Per, FG Sge, U Sge, V Sge, WZ Sge Nearby Stars (astrometric monitoring) - Ross 248 (HH And), 61 Cyg
- Evening session (2.1 hrs duration). - Session operated under semi-automated control, with remote monitoring from indoors computer. - Ambient Temperature: +6°C falling to +3.5°C minimum - CCD operation -25°C (at 73% average cooling). - main objectives of the session were to acquire images of Nova Delphinus and to acquire images selected project stars for ongoing photometric and astrometric analysis. -
Nova Del 2013 (Delphinus) Nova Delphini was discovered on 14th August 2013 by Japanese observer Koichi Itagaki at magnitude +6.8. Koichi had imaged the same field the day before and nothing was visible at the same location. The progenitor star was identified from archive images as being magnitude +16.9 Alias: V339 Del The image below was taken 25 days after discovery when
nova had faded to around +7.5 |
