M82 - Spiral Galaxy with SN 2014J

M82 with SN 2014J (Ursa Major)

SN 2014J (Type Ia HV) was discovered 2014/01/21.810 by Steve J. Fossey
and a team of students at UCL’s teaching observatory, the University of London Observatory.
(Rochester Supernova site | Discovery Image )
Pre-discovery images by K.Itagaki show that supernova probably exploded between 2014/01/14.558 and 2014/01/15.570

The image below (2014/01/23.98) was taken 2.2 days after
discovery when the supernova was at magnitude +10.9
The supernova is indicated by the white markers.
