M82 with SN 2014J (Ursa Major) SN 2014J (Type Ia HV) was discovered 2014/01/21.810 by Steve J. Fossey and a team of students at UCL’s teaching observatory, the University of London Observatory. (Rochester Supernova site | Discovery Image ) Pre-discovery images by K.Itagaki show that supernova probably exploded between 2014/01/14.558 and 2014/01/15.570 |
