Objects Session Notes
NGC 2129 - Open Cluster (Herschel VIII-26) NGC 3384 - Elliptical Galaxy Photometric Monitoring - Variables - U Gem, RZ LMi, DY Per, GK Per, ER UMa Astrometric Monitoring - Nearby Stars - DX Cnc (Gliese 1111), CN Leo (Wolf 359)
- Short evening session (1.3 hrs duration). Whilst conditions (clear, windless, excellent seeing) were initially very promising for a a good night of observing sky transparency rapidly degraded and observing had to be quickly abandoned. - Session operated under semi-automated control, with remote monitoring from indoors computer. - Ambient Temperature: tube temperature rapidly fell from +10° to +1.5°C (minimum) - CCD operation -25°C (at 65% average cooling). - Planned objectives of the session were to monitor selected variable stars & nearby stars and to take gallery images of selected deep sky objects in Canes Venatici, Leo and Virgo. - - Notes:
RZ LMi images (90s, C filter, -25deg C) wouldn't link until after a Hot Pixel repair operation is performed.
