- Evening Session (6 hrs duration).
Clear skies, low wind. Cloud developing towards end of session.
- Session operated under semi-automated control, with remote monitoring from indoors computer.
- Main aims of the session were to provide live testing of VS2017 version of CCDApp2 observatory control program (with cleaned up code), continue testing of dual scope/dual camera operations with autoguiding and acquire images of some selected deep sky objects.
- 12" LX200 + ST-10XME for imaging
- TS 80mm APO + ZWO ASI178MC for guiding & imaging
- Ambient Temperature:  -6°C (minimum)

Iridium Flash

Meteor or Iridium Flash - 2017-12-13 17:37hUT
The path/orientation of the event shows that it can't be a Geminid meteor
but could it be a sporadic meteor ?

Meteor or Iridium Flash
Difference Images ('frame' - 'frame before') can be used to examine whether the object
is likely to be meteor rather than an Iridium satellite flash.
The sequence of Diff. Images below suggest that there is a trace of an object
leading out of the main event - After 1 contains a narrow white trace leading to the right
After 2 contains a corresponding black trace.
This implies the event is almost certainly an Iridium Flash.
