Images - Session 620 (2018-08-21)

Objects Session Notes
Bullet R CrB - RCB variable star

Bullet Photometric Monitoring - Variables
    - None

(R CrB attempted but failed due to software interruption & cloud)

Bullet Astrometric Monitoring - Nearby Stars
    - None

- Attempted Evening Session (10 mins duration).
Initially clear , but clouds quickly rolled in.
Wind 15 mph+
- Very short session using Fully Automated operation until session was halted by developing cloud and wind (Session was monitored from within the observatory initially and then remotely from indoors).
- Main aim of the session was intended to be test recent bug fix and fine-tuning in my AllSky Software (running on AllSky/Weather computer) to correctly display telescope status, location and next targets (running on Main Observatory Computer). Secondary aims were to acquire images of a selection of deep sky, variable star & nearby star targets.
- Dome shutter chain came off the Shutter Drive Sprocket during the session and left the Drive Motor running and believing that it was still opening the shutter. Luckily it wasn't - the shutter was shut.
- 12" LX200 + ST-10XME for imaging
- TS 80mm APO + ZWO ASI178MC for guiding
- Ambient Temperature:  16°C (minimum) increasing to 17
- CCD Temperature:  -10°C (72% av. power)

R CrB  - RCB Variable Star

R CrB (Corona Borealis)
Locate Image following initial slew

Targeting a point at offset of W -2.0', N 3.5' from R CrB in order
to also pick up TT CrB, the image has a pointing error of W: -0.77', N: 2.37',
meaning that R CrB lies just off the bottom of this image.
(Software interruption and then cloud prevented final target centering
and acquisition of main images)
