Objects Session Notes
C/2022 E3 (ZTF) - Comet NGC 1501 - Planetary Nebula (PLN 144+ 6.1) Variable Stars (photometric monitoring) - None Nearby Stars (astrometric monitoring) - None
- Evening session (5.8 hours) hampered by condensation inside the LX200 Telescope Tube, surpressing stars coming to the SBIG Camera, prevented the planned automated operations and make some user directed tasks like resetting telescope pointing and performing a short mapping job very difficult.
Some images captured using the TS80 secondary scope with its ZWO 178MC Camera- 12" LX200 + ST-10XME for imaging - TS 80mm APO + ZWO ASI178MC for guiding & imaging - Ambient Temperature: 2.0°C (min) - CCD Temperature: -20°/ -25°C - Notes from 2023-02-04 >>
C/2022 E3 (ZTF) - 2023-02-04 (passing through Auriga) Sun Distance 1.17 AU (receeding Earth Distance 0.30 AU (45.3 million km) (just after closest approach on 2023-02-01) Images below are short 5s Locate Frames used to orientate the secondary scope onto the comet. |
