Pictures Videos Summary Plot Magnetometer Stack Plots (for reference) Planetary K-Index Plot (for reference) Aurora Forecast, NOAA/Ovation (for reference)
- Weak Aurora display visible from NE Scotland
- Activity observed from 20:36 to 22:45 UT when cloud developed
- Peak activity (~ kp3) at around 00:30 according to Scandinavian magnetometers was hidden by cloud.- - Telescope Images from 2021-11-09 >>
Panoramic View - Northern Sky |
2021-11-09 20:39 UT First indications of auroral activity. rays to 5-8° altitude, moving left and right, better seen in video. Lighting from new housing estate (N-NNE) and town (NNW) interfers with the view |
2021-11-09 20:41 UT Auroral activity rays to 5-8° altitude, moving left and right. better seen in video. Lighting from new housing estate (N-NNE) and town (NNW) interfers with the view |
2021-11-09 22:19 UT Auroral arc to 5-8° altitude, weak |
2021-11-09 22:22 UT Auroral arc to 5-8° altitude, weak, some rays moving (NNW) |
2021-11-09 22:24 UT Auroral arc to 5-8° altitude, weak. Some rays moving (N - NNW), better seen in video |
2021-11-10 00:30 UT Time of peak activity according to scandinavian magnetometers. Probable aurora but completely hidden by clouds |

Night Summary Plot - North Sky (2021-11-09 / 2021-11-10) Times on plot are local times (GMT = UTC +00h ) Weak activity at 20:36 to 22:43 UT, but not obvious on keogram. Probable Peak at around 00:30 UT is hidden by cloud Stray lighting from new housing estate affects keogram between 19:45 to 21:05 |

Magnetometer Stack Plots from Scandinavia
(ordered by latitude) H Component - 2021-11-03 / 2021-11-04 Original data from Tromsų Geophysical Observatory (TGO), DTU Space (Technical University of Denmark) and Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI, displayed on SpaceWeatherLive http://www.spaceweatherlive.com/en/auroral-activity/magnetometers). Note: Geomagnetometer activity at rvk (Rorvik, 64.95N), dob (Dombas, 62.07N), sol (Solund, 61.08N) and kar (Karmoy, 59.21N) stations are used as indicators for potential auroral activity that may be visible from my Observatory situated at latitude 57.32N (Map of Stations) |
