Session Aims & Highlights (2024-09-16)

Main aims

  1. Targets.  Acquire images of a selection of variable stars, nearby stars, comets & deep sky targets as allowed by sky conditions.
  2. AstroMain.  Check new 3.69.8 version of AstroMain to ensure new code in ObsManager for handling JobQueue/TheSky6 freezes has no negative effects or problems
  3. ImageLink/TheSky6.  Monitor session for any further incidents of the issue where the ImageLink process freezes for 5 minutes leading to Target Abort & Session Suspension.  Tracing was further extended in AstroMain 3.69.8. The new version also contains some statements tha might potentially resolve the ongoing issue.

Replacement Temperature/Humidity Sensor (Greenhouse2)

A replacement Aqara Temperature/Humidity Multi-Sensor has been added to the Observatory's ZigBee Network today (2024-09-16) using Phoscon App. 

This is a new sensor to replace the original 'Greenhouse2' multisensor (installed 2023-10-10) which is no-longer reachable, despite a number of attempts to re-pair it with the Zigbee Network (see  Issue - Greenhouse Temp/Humidity Sensor 2 are not reading/communicating fresh T/H data (2024-09-07) and Defect - Greenhouse Temp/Humidity Sensor 2 is unreachable (2024-08-20).

After deleting the old Greenhouse2 sensor the following new sensor ids are listed in the sensor list as :

   23: Greenhouse2, ZHAHumidity, humidity
  24: Greenhouse2, ZHATemperature, temperature
  25: Greenhouse2, ZHAPressure, pressure

These 3 sensors replace the orginal Greenhouse2 sensors (id's 13, 14, 15)

The replacement sensor has initially been located outside next to the Weather Station's Outdoor T/H sensor as this is an opportunity to check the T/H values coming from the Weather Station's outdoor sensor which been recently questioned.  At a later date the replacement Greenhouse2 sensor will be finally placed in the Greenhouse in lieu of the orginal Greenhouse2 sensor.

After installing the new sensor the Phoscon/deConz setting were backed up to the file "raspbee_gateway_config_2024-09-16.dat".
