Maffei 2 - Galaxy through Infrared Filter

Maffei 2 is a galaxy lying in the plane of the Milky Way and is largely obscured by dust.
Two sets of images of Maffei 2  were acquired (one set through Visual (V) and on set through Infrared (I) filter). These showed that the galaxy was visible in infrared , whilst at the same time practically invisible in visual band.

U And - Mira variable

U And (Andromeda)

U And is a mira variable with catalog period of 346.55 days
and magnitude range of +8.9 to +15.0.

Baseline images were acquired in C, B, V, R & I filters
Magnitude of U And is estimated at +13.9 (V band) & +11.4 (R Band)
(using the comparison star technique)

The deep red colour of U And (top right) is indicated by very noticeable differences
in its apparent brightness in images taken in B, V, R and I Bands
( Notice how U And is almost invisible in B band (Blue), whilst
it is as bright as the check star in I band (Infrared). )
measured B-V index  : 1.66
measured R-V index : 2.50

W And - Mira variable

W And (Andromeda)

W And is a Mira variable with catalog period of 395.93 days
and magnitude range of +6.7 to +14.6.

Baselines images were acquired in C, B, V, R & I filters
A magnitude of +7.5 (V band) is estimated for W And
using the comparison star technique.

EZ And - Mira variable

EZ And (Andromeda)

EZ And is a mira variable with catalog period of 275 days
and magnitude range of +13.2 to < +15
.
Baseline Images were acquired in C, B, V, R & I filters

A magnitude of +11.0 (C band) &  +12.2 (V Band) is estimated for EZ And, suggesting
star is brighter than catalog magnitude, however colour dependance has not been
taken into account in method used.
